Falklands Spirits

40th Anniversary Commemorative Spirit Collection

Challenge

Dropzone Brewery, endorsed by the South Atlantic Medal Association 82 (SAMA82), was proud to launch this limited-edition collection to support veterans of the Falklands conflict to maintain and promote a sense of pride and comradeship among all involved in the South Atlantic campaign.

The brief required a cohesive set of labels that would be ultra premium and highly collectible, while serving as a respectful tribute to the servicemen involved and a chronicle of the events that occurred in 1982.

Solution

With three individual themes of Land, Sea and Air, we took inspiration from uniform colours, military insignia, battle maps, authentic letters and historic photographs to create a premium and contemporary spirit brand that preserves this moment in history.

At numerous stages of the design process the client crowd sourced opinions from high profile ex-servicemen who were involved with the conflict in some capacity to ensure that the designs were historically accurate and respectful and sensitive to such an event.

"Today I sat with a large group of ex and still serving members of airborne forces and sold a set in auction for over £3000. Everyone in the room made many comments on the amazing design and how impressed they were."
